Barack Obama is finally in office after all the campaigning and media talks, but now what? Where do we go from here? Well Obama has finally picked his theme for the U.S. as “Renewing America’s Promise”. What does that mean? Obama says he wants to work on America’s unity. He wants to bring back the idea that the United States will either rise or fall together. And while President Barack Obama is in office, he intends on us rising together. That’s why Obama wants to start by relieving the middle class immediately by empowering families. Too many people are struggling from the economic distresses of this so-called recession. One of the ways President Obama intends on relieving families is by making affordable health care coverage. Not only does Barack Obama want to make health care affordable, but also with quality. President Obama also plans on increasing American competitiveness and economic stewardship.
Let’s not forget about the issues that we have outside our homeland. Many of our American soldiers are still overseas serving and protecting us from the effects of terrorism. We have to continually keep faith of our military and support them. President Obama wants to end the war in Iraq and has repeatedly stated his eagerness to catch Osama Bin-Laden and defeating the Al-Qaeda terrorist group. We’ve heard this time-after-time from the Bush Administration about stopping the spread and use of weapons of mass destruction. This is another goal that Barack says will help in renewing America’s promise. We can only do by working for a common security around the world. Barack says that repeatedly and plans on leading us with that thought in mind. Last, but not least, Barack Obama wants to make a more perfect union and renew American democracy.
President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden have a vision to restore opportunity and possibility to the citizens of the U.S. and our surrounding nations throughout the world with just this one commitment of “renewing America’s promise.
